Who We Are
New York Writers Workshop is an alliance of published authors and professional writers of fiction, non-fiction, journalism, poetry, plays and screenplays, who live and teach in New York City and a growing list of locales across the globe.
Our Mission
New York Writers Workshop is dedicated to offering professional guidance, resources, and workshops that teach craft, foster creativity, and help writers achieve their goals.

C L A S S E S

The New York Writers Workshop faculty has been teaching writing classes at the JCC in Manhattan since 2001. Classes run during Fall, Winter, and Spring/ Summer terms.

Prison Writes is an innovative, therapeutic writing program with a trauma-informed approach.  We bring writing workshops to detained, incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals for advocacy, therapy, literacy & more.
