FOR WRITERS
Picture
Asia Pacific Writers & Translators Inc. (APWT) was originally an informal network known as the Asia-Pacific New Writing Partnership. It began in 2005 with seed funding from the Vice Chancellor of Griffith University. It was conceived as a broker of collaborative literary research projects with other universities around the Asia Pacific region. It grew into a think tank of individuals rather than institutions, though some held senior academic posts.

New York Writers Resources is the parent corporation of New York Writers Workshop, a collective of writers and teachers working in New York City and Greenpoint Press, an independent publishing house devoted to quality non-fiction.

The Guild advocates for authors on issues of copyright, fair contracts, free speech and tax fairness, and has initiated lawsuits in defense of authors’ rights, where necessary. It represents authors on the Hill, in state legislatures, and in government agencies. Recently, it has fought in several major court battles to protect authors’ copyrights, including its lawsuits against Google Books and HathiTrust, and it has worked to establish fair royalty rates for both e-books and print books.

Pentian is a online platform that combines full-service self-publishing with a multilingual crowdfunding platform for books. This platform allows authors to present their projects, lets backers pledge and support them and provides financial rewards to all involved once the books sell. It is an extraordinary tool to reach potential readers around the world and build the authors fan-base.
For more information, please visit Pentian's website.
